An engine like LC0 that needs a TOP GPU to perform decently isn't interesting anyway for the average user, when I can have good performances using Stockfish even on a Raspberry PI4.Graham Banks wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2024 12:07 amFrom Lc0 discord - I can confirm.
Just a small update on our participation in WCCC.
The WCCC organizers decided to keep ShashChess among participants, so we are withdrawing from the competition.
Correct, it will be about speeches about the greatness while it wasn't always that great at all, no thank you.
Well, see it as a chance to make peace with the past, or alike.

We should celebrate computerchess.
Maybe computerchess is part of the well-ordered existence of the universe.
And by doing computerchess the programmers helped to increase negative entropy.
IMO it was worth any Minute, any version, any day of programming.
Hmm, would be nice if ICGA finds a way to get "the new kids on the block" in the boat too, Stockfish, Lc0, it is their hobby/passion too...
