Thank you for the info! :)
Who is Tech 4 ?
Hi Engin,
Tech 4 is my entry. It pays homage to the "Technology Chess Program" lineage started by Jim Gillogly in 1970. https://www.chessprogramming.org/Tech. Tech 2 was at the first WCCC in 1974, and it will be a nice bookend to have a Tech at the final WCCC 50 years later. It will be the weakest program competing, but it's still fascinating how far a material-only evaluation gets on modern hardware!

Really looking forward to meeting you and Tornado at the event.
Good luck in your final preparations!
John
Hi John,
very nice, i hope Tech 4 is now much stronger then the very older ones, the weakest program i think is my engine Tornado there, so i hope to get with much lucky for some draws, but the reason why i go to WCSC/WCCC is to enjoy and have a little fun the event instead of looking only the results.

I read from Lc0 discord: Just a small update on our participation in WCCC.
The WCCC organizers decided to keep ShashChess among participants, so we are withdrawing from the competition. True?

i hear something different, that all will not to play if ShashChess is not playing.
so i did not understand this decision at the moment and why, they have a very strong Lc0 that can possible beat ShashChess.

Rightly so.

Jonathan Schaefer invested quite some time to get me into Spain, I repeatedly declined and from one thing came another thus also the Shashchess issue and he was deaf for all the arguments I made. Including that Shashchess is boycotted on all rating lists, on TCEC and CCCC as well. Same old story, they don't listen to the programmers. With the withdrawal of Leela as result, he was asking for it.

Ed should go IMO. All programmers of the beginning should participate.

Yes, I'd love to see Ed. I've already paid for a nonrefundable airline ticket, so I'll be there.

Surely I like to meet old friends, but it also means an association with an organization with a bad reputation, I had hope on the new chairman but no, he stubbornly refused the obvious. Not the first time.
