first of all Ed!
Sorry, no interest on it to be your master!
As a programmer, In business for so long, you are in role model function for all the others.
My software Rebel / Rebel EAS / Rebel Extreme based on Toga II v4.0 by Thomas Gaksch.
Toga based on Fruit by Fabien LETOUZEY
Download link to your sources
Download link to your engine
For each of your Rebel versions.
You can't be serious about giving lectures on SIM tools and not clearly and unambiguously indicating on your own current website which sources your own software is based on.
CREDITS
. Code Base : Chris Whittington

That's what the people can find if they start your site.
Do what you like to do!
For me, Rebel is not legal as long as it is clearly stated on a current page.

Even with bold print, the situation does not change.
But a nice idea to do that on your site ... based on the work by Fabian!
I warn you, stop spreading lies, else I will sue you. And in Germany the loser pays for everything.

Sure, the two versions with source-code you are speaking before.
In my opinion, the sources must be in each of the downloads if the software based on another engine. Correct me if I'm wrong.
OK, after all I understand ...
Rebel 15.0 / 15.1 based on Toga II 4.0 ...
Rebel Extreme with the name of your engine Rebel in front based on the code by Chris Whittington.
Rebel EAS with the name of your engine Rebel in front based on the code by Chris Whittington.
CSTal 2.1 EAS without the name of your engine Rebel in front "Chess System Tal" based on the code by Chris Whittington.
Engines Chess System Tal / Rebel EAS / Rebel Extreme (142.046.208 bytes) based on the code by Chris Whittington but have different names. More or less Rebel EAS / Rebel Extreme is also a Chess-System-Tal, the NN file is from yourself?!
Perhaps Rebel 16.3 based also on the code by Chris Whittington?
Older Rebels, like 15.0 / 15.1 not based on the code by Chris Whittington, based on the code of Toga?
Rebel 15.0 / 15.1 only based on Toga II 4.0!
Not Rebel 14er edition and Rebel 15.1a - 16.2?
That is wirrwarr for me and have nothing to do with lies Ed.
That are the downloads you offer for us.
Its your own information, in TalkChess (after I remember) that you used the code from Toga Ii 4.0. Comes not from myself. I wrote in TalkChess after I read that (after I remember) ... thats good that the work by Fabien is mentioned.
I have only one interest ...
Nothing to do with your work in detail.
In my interest is that the programmer of Fruit is mentioned if others used his sources.
For me is Rebel = Rebel = the sources by the programmer of Rebel.
For me is CSTal = CSTal = the sources by the programmer of Chess-System-Tal.
Programmer A created the sources and the name of the program is for an example: Lisa (in this case Chess-System-Tal).
Programmer B used the sources and created the neural network file only and give the program the name: Elisabeth (in this case Rebel).
Later, the same program have different names but are changed in neural network file only. The sources from Elisabeth are in versions before not from Programmer A "Lisa" ... the sources are from programmer C with the name "Betti". Betti based on sources with the name "Lissi".
So, Elisabeth version x based on Betti, Betti based on Lissi and Elisabeth version y based on Lisa. Later in development the NN file from Lisa only is new, the engine is Elisabeth. Lisa and Elisabeth are later in development the same engines, changed only in NN file. Versions before based on Betti. But sources based on Betti are not available in all of the Elisabeth downloads.
In my humble opinion ...
If the sources are from Chris Whittington, the NN file is changed, the name of the engine should not have another name.
Or people like me, like to test this or that are testing in reality a neural-network file only and thinking the program is different, because the name of the program is different.
But that is my opinion only, not important!
If the programmers like to make it complicated, in 5 years we have a lot of solve puzzles.
