The logos are fantastic. It is difficult to imagine one better for Twisted Logic. It is a masterpiece!

I agree, they are very cool!

Gives the engines more of a "personality".

Even though in this tournament most of them already have a personality...

Who's your favorite to win, Miguel?

I am 100% sure Gaviota won't come last, if that's what you are thinking...

By the way, how is the progress going? Any new version planned for a release soon?

No, but it will be in the bottom half for sure.

Progress, in terms of strength, has been delayed because I invested quite a bit in features and TBs. There is going to be another version soon that will take into account all this. After that, I will come back to make Gaviota (hopefully) stronger, at least a bit if possible. I identified several areas that badly need improvement. Time management, pondering, easy moves, king activity in the endgame, king safety will be priorities. I am not even counting search, which is the weakest point. It is extremely primitive with only nullmove. I am not using, LMR, futility, razoring, etc. etc... all that has been in the to-do list for years...

But I learned I need to be organized. if I try all at once, I mess it up. Many of the few things I have in search I removed them to start testing them one at a time and carefully.

Since I started to used GIT, a versioning system, my productivity was boosted tremendously. Before that, I was a mess. My to-do list is, literally, dozens of pages.

It's amazing how strong Gaviota is at any given search depth. With deeper search, I think it will be a real monster.

I've always liked this one for twisted:

but I think that one is even better. Great logos for this tournament, and the games should be fairly interesting.
