Comments:

This tournament will start after the current Cutting Edge Team Tournament
has finished and/or as soon as Naum 4.2 has been released.

Most of the participating engines has had a personality added to them,
configured by myself. This was done to add some fun and perhaps get
some more tactical games.

The completely unfamiliar engine for me in this tournament is Protector.
I am looking forward to watching it play in its debute.

Since this is a Swiss type event, the weaker engines has a bigger
chance to climb to the top. It's only 6 rounds, so anything can happen.

In this tournament each round will be played with a more
or less known "reasonably" balanced opening at 4 ply.

Round 1:
A01 Nimzowitsch-Larsen Opening
1. b3 e5 2. Bb2 Nc6 *
[d]

Round 2:
A21 English, Kramnik-Shirov Counterattack
1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Bb4 *
[d]

Round 3:
A80 Dutch Defence
1. d4 f5 2. Bg5 h6 *
[d]

Round 4:
A46 Neo-Benoni
1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 c5 *
[d]

Round 5:
B22 Sicilian, Alapin Variation
1. e4 c5 2. c3 d5 *
[d]

Round 6:
C31 King's Gambit, Falkbeer Counterattack
1. e4 e5 2. f4 d5 *
[d]

A new post will be made to this thread when the tournament starts.

The pairings for Round 1 is listed below.

I am anxious to see Scorpio's results.
It seems to be quite a bit stronger than previous versions, but there has been very little testing

Hello Dann,

I hope you have checked out the on-going Cutting Edge Team Tournament, where Scorpio is playing.

It is showing some good chess imo, and I think 2.5 is rather strong.

Anyway, after a message from Aaron Becker (author of Daydreamer),
I will replace Daydreamer 1.61 with 1.7 when it is released (should be within 1 week).
