Cwtch 6 Pre-release with Attacking option

Post by op12no2 »

I've added an Attacking option to Cwtch, which I'm hoping makes it fun for humans to play against. Try values like 75 and 100.

https://github.com/op12no2/cwtch/releases/tag/6

I would be very grateful for feedback.

Use the _v3 binaries unless you have a very old machine.

Thanks!

Hi Colin,

I'm not one to play against engines. Still, may I ask you at what Attacking value would you like Cwtch 6 to be tested for the CCRL blitz list? Normally I use default values for all engines.

Hi Gabor, any value other than the default 0 loses Elo, (and over 500 Elo for a value of 100) so the default is great. But this is just an experimental Pre-release; I have not released Cwtch 6 yet. I may or may not keep the Attacking option in and may tweak other stuff before the final release. Thanks.

Cwtch is an interesting project.
Why not ... unfortunately, to many things to test from my site.

No reason to delete it.

Fact is, a lot of new engines, updates are available in the last months.
I think to find testers isn't easy.

Best and thanks for Cwtch.
I added the link to that version in my engine-overview.

https://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines.htm
Here you can see, different programmers offers Pre / dev versions.
Can be see in my engine-overview, pink entry under version number and bold "tag" url to GitHub.

To see also in ETOC-G rankings (end of the entries):

Hi Frank, I just decided I didn't like the approach; I may well have another go. I have released Cwtch 6 properly now (without the attacking option).

Thanks Peter!
