I want to make some chess vedio to talk about engine games to show how strong they are. In my opinion, to attract more views, one - sided domination games like the very short wins games from spcc was beautiful but not interesting enough for my type of vedios. And actually, the openings and middlegames until sacs from spcc games was kinda confusing. I can't say that black loses because of the opening.
I'll appreciate it if you can find some recent games that is suitable for my videos. Thank you.
I think it will be a lot of work to locate exciting games.
The TCEC games all start at pawns odds or worse. Humans rarely play like that, so what do we learn? The only value we can extract from games like that is the occasional sensational move. Since the source is a starting position we are never going to play, what good is that?
The CCRL and CEGT games have drawish opening books, but you could filter on games that are not draws.
I think the only way to recognize a great game is to play through it slowly from start to finish.
The LiChess site has so many millions of games that even after you filter for gm level against gm level at long time control, there are still millions of them.
So finding fun and interesting game will be another needle in the haystack task.
I think they way to create great computer games is with openings that are not drawish, and yet still completely fair. But finding those openings is as difficult as finding the great games. There are no contests like that today.
Because the chess engines are so strong, fair games are almost always draws between two equally matched engines with commonly played openings. Dull, dull, dull.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.
