Dual rtx 4090s for Leela?

Post by h1a8 »

I understand that in gaming, only one RTX 4090 graphics card is utilized, even if two are installed. However, both cards can be used simultaneously for video rendering.

When it comes to chess applications like Leela Zero, can dual RTX 4090 graphics cards work together to improve performance, or would it function like gaming, where only one card is used?

Sure here is 4 GPUs https://live.lczero.org/ . But sadly Leela progress has stopped months ago. Better invest to one CPU :) .

Using LC0 with one or two GPUs - a guide

^ might be a bit outdated, and IIRC one RTX 4090 is ~450W power consumption, two of them will require a pro set up in regard of power supply and cooling.

These GPUs are too expensive and most people in the world cannot afford them.

Do you not know that most people in the world live in poverty?

Many people are lucky if they can even afford 1 computer in their home.

I prefer to buy and use at least 2x RTX 5090.
You can buy it this year.
LC0 will use both.
It's like using the strength of 4x RTX 4090.

You can also add older GPUs to the 2x RTX 5090 like + 1x RTX 4090 + 1x RTX 3090...

Or use 4x watercooled RTX 5090 for only 8000 instead of the strongest Threadripper CPU for 14000.
4x RTX 5090 = 8x RTX 4090. That's a crazy strength. Especially if you use it for analysis.
