Hi, guys! I noticed a new original engine Ceres 1.0 in TCEC Season 27. Investigated and found out that its last version 0.96 (also 0.97 pre-release) were released in Feb-March 2022. Looks like it's a GPU engine that utilizes an alternative way of implementing Leela in C# (I guess it's not a clone, if it is considered to be "original" by TCEC? ) in 2021 there were speculations that Ceres will replace Leela, but looks like for the last 3 years not much was going on with it. I l never saw it in competitions neither in TCEC nor on chess.com. Also it's missing from most of the ratings (ccrl, cegt, s.pohl, etc).
Just curious if anybody has additional information about it?
What is Ceres?
