Why do top chess players adjust their pieces?

Does it relax them before their game? Since they can adjust every pieces as they move every pieces one by one for instance you move a pawn to you adjust it to be exactly in the center of the square, later as you continue moving your pieces you place them exactly in the center of each square and so on... :roll: :mrgreen: :roll:
