It may have helped me that I had to solve the white side of this position 1st. Having solved the white win made solving the black side easier.

I found this one very difficult to solve. In fact I did not solve it in enough attempts and the app showed me a hint. Then it was easy.

Bd6 wins material, but I'll be darned if I can find a checkmate resulting from it.

Must be some other move is best.

You got it right, that was not a checkmate problem.
