build 160 is up:
- engine listboxes now use string-based (multi-letter) search similar to filelist
- new crosstable sorting option (none -> unsorted)
@Colin: thanks

Re: Myracle GUI
Hi Martin, what does Myracle use in the tournaments table to calculate Elo and the error margins ?

Re: Myracle GUI
for elo perf it uses the simple formula
let's call it elo_delta
for error bars first std_dev is computed using
then error bars as
where wr = winrate
as a reference I refer to this url viewtopic.php?t=51003, but it seems to discuss LOS rather than eb (I don't compute LOS in myracle)
Code: Select all
-400 * log10(1/winrate - 1)
for error bars first std_dev is computed using
Code: Select all
sd = sqrt(wins * (1-wr)^2 + draws * (0.5-wr)^2 + losses * (0-wr)^2) / sqrt(num_games)
Code: Select all
eb = 0.5 * abs(elo_delta(wr + 1.96*sd) - elo_delta(wr - 1.96*sd))

Re: Myracle GUI
Thanks. I ran one of my ad-hoc tournaments through Ordo and the ratings and error bars were extremely close. Excellent.

Re: Myracle GUI
Hi Martin
I noticed a strange behavior...
I run a two engine tournament between Surveyor ONE and Surveyor TWO.
I checked it and found that the problem is caused by Surveyor ONE.
Core budget is set to 4 and IO core budget to 4.
My cpu is i5-13600K
When run tournament it begins with 4 games (ponder off)
When a game finish it takes too long to begin another game. Sometimes only one game play and it took long time to begin another
My time is set to 9s+0.1s
So is it engine bug or/and GUI bug?
I have not noticed this again and I play many tournaments....
PS: Core budget and IO core budget is ok for my machine or these setting are wrong because of E cores?

Re: Myracle GUI
hi,
IO core budget is only relevant when opening PGNs, it's not used when playing tournaments
as for which is best for you: the default tries to set the core budget to number of physical cores (on windows) or half logical cores on linux
which is best for you depends
surveyor ONE doesn't implement UCI quit command, so it always timeouts when it's being unloaded which is why the utilization drops (tried surveyor ONE.1 because the author claims old ONE used more cpu than it should)
so: nothing for me to fix here
