hi, not sure what you mean here?
you mean you run a gauntlet with 8 seeds?
gauntlet seeds are always on top, but sorted (score then S-B then seed order)
then rest of the opponents is sorted too according to the same criteria
it's currently impossible to disable crosstable sorting.
only is sprt crosstable isn't sorted, but that's 1 vs 1 only
I find it interesting that your crosstable shows rank 1 for all engines, I've never seen any such output from myracle.
also the crosstable looks like round-robin to me, but can't tell.
there already is crosstable sorting combo, so I could perhaps also add unsorted (seed order)
is that what you ask for?

Re: Myracle GUI
I'm running 8 gauntlet tournaments.
In the 1st tournament Berserk is the top seed against 10 engines rated from 2000-3000 Elo.
In 2nd tournament Clockwork is the top seed against the same engines.
And so on. This works perfect.
After a finished gauntlet: tournament_2026_10_24_18_18_02.cross
When all tournaments are finished I copy only the 3rd line from every generated tournament_xxx.cross.txt to my summary file. This summary looks then like previous shown in the first table. But now we don't know any more against whom the top seed drew or lost.
All games are played in the same order but with a different top seed on 1.
And without result sorting all engines stay the same for every 1st seed.
If the crosstable was not sorted, then the 3rd line should look like in this mockup.
Now we know from the 3rd line only, that Berserk lost against engine #11 and drew against engine #8. Which is in every gauntlet Spike and OliThink.
Please look at the previous second table, which is made by hand from the original result. Berserk won all games, but lost against engine #11 and drew against engine #8. E.g. Triumviratus lost against engine #8 and #10. Easy to see in one line. But these information vanished from the 3rd line by sorting (see first table).
I noticed in "Tools/Settings/Tournament/Crosstable sorting" the entry winrate/points, but this changed nothing.

Re: Myracle GUI
ok - now I understand, it always amazes me how people come up with clever ways to use the GUI
so all you need is an option to not sort the crosstable, I could add a new item in the crosstable sort combo and that should do.
sounds easy enough.

I also noticed that when ponder is on it show at tournament line:mar wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2026 9:08 amhi Stathis,SSTATHIS wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2026 7:57 am Hello Martin!
When add a new engine in directory list if you press in keyboard quickly , lets say "L","A","N" then you go to the first directory that begins with "LAN".
If you do the same at engine list it catches only one letter, so you go to the first engine that begins with "N".
Is it possible to fix engine list so that it behaves like directory list?
Best regards and thanks again for the best GUI...
the listbox key behavior is modeled after standard listboxes, where a key goes to the first letter (i.e. C), the pressing the same key again cycles items starting with C (file list behaves differently).
I agree with you and don't like the "standard" behavior either, so let's change it in the next build (I'm sure people will find more bugs anyway), at least in engine selection listboxes.
612/612 games, 60% draws, time control:180+2, ponder on, book:Perfect2023.bin (ply:6), event: CHAMP 25 DIV 1
When ponder is off it does not:
"612/612 games, 60% draws, time control:180+2, book:Perfect2023.bin (ply:6), event: CHAMP 25 DIV 1 Poff"

Re: Myracle GUI
Exactly, that would help!
My other question "the 1st seed (without Nb8) plays only black against the same engine group", is such a gauntlet setup even possible?

Re: Myracle GUI
yes and it's intentional. I prefer to keep things simple and ponder off is prevalent among testers.SSTATHIS wrote: ↑Thu Oct 29, 2026 2:58 pm I also noticed that when ponder is on it show at tournament line:

Re: Myracle GUI
shouldn't it be possible to create a pgn/epd book where all lines start with black to move and disable repeat reverse in the gauntlet? haven't tried myself but should work I think

Re: Myracle GUI
Unfortunately that doesn't do the trick.
I wanted a gauntlet, where the 1st seed engine is always black.
Pairings would look like
