I have no idea whether Judit Polgar would be a good president or not - but just because someone is good at playing chess doesn't necessarily mean that they'll be good in a position of leadership.

In Hungary it is not the president who has the leadership. It is the prime minister.

I am glad she refused it. Nothing put me off Gazza more back in the day than finding out he was a reactionary fool, and not that smart outside the board. Judit could be landing herself in other people's mess, and the world climate of hate at the moment doesn't lend itself to great adventures for outsiders. Because history will surely be hard on our times, once historians start studying these days. I can imagine their "WTF" face already... :D
Like other republics in europe, the role is mostly ceremonial, and just a constitutional firewall.
