Have you looked at the alternatives and forks? There are so many, so if you are taking up the work to make it progress, it would be nice to take the changes of the other repositories and merge them all together in a super-SciDB.

It took me a couple of minutes to find the following list. I occasionally use some of the scid versions, but I have trouble identifying the most modern or up-to-date one.

https://scidb.sourceforge.net/
https://scidvspc.sourceforge.net/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/scidpp/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/py-scid/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/chessdb/
https://sourceforge.net/projects/newscid/
https://github.com/benini/scid
https://github.com/bahmanm/scidup
https://formulae.brew.sh/cask/scidvsmac

And runtimes and related projects:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/scid-recast/
https://github.com/mdgabriel/scidb-hquery

I don't have time or interest to keep working on scidb, I only wanted to package it in a way that it can be used on a current linux distro. but https://sourceforge.net/projects/scid-recast/ seems super interesting.
