Bitbases for Qapla chess engine!

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

has anyone taken the time to generate the bitbases for Qapla? If so, would that person be willing to share their work with me?

Qapla by Volker Böhm (Germany)

Hint:
Not means the GUI Qapla by Volker Böhm (Germany)

I remember ...
Roland Pfister created also such "bitbases" (I have here, I used to be a beta tester).
But I think, this "bitbases" have nothing to do with the "bitbases" from Qapla.

Roland Pfister is the programmer from the German chess engine Patzer.

Hello FRank!

Maybe they're somewhere but generating them by yourself is very easy:

-open a terminal/Prompt
-cd to the Programm and run it
-it should identify itself 'Qapla 0.3.2 (C) 2025 Volker Boehm (build 018)'
-type

Code: Select all

bitgenerate 5 cores 4
(or more cores)
-hitenter

bitbases are then in the same directory as the program. Saves bandwith.

Good morning Christian,

hm, with your hint I found the mistake I do before.
Now I can generate the bitbases!

Thank you again!!
It runs with 8 of 10 cores on my Intel i9-10900k.

So I can start Qapla with bitbases as next (after the still running Spike 1.4.1 HCE).

:-)

Best
