Re: Serious concern about RECKLESS engine
In Reckless author list are many Stockfish developers. Is Reckless basically Stockfish written in Rust?!

Since the source code of Reckless and Stockfish are both available, it should be possible for Ai to carry out a deep analysis of the two and highlight where the overlaps are.

A very brief analysis by my friend GhatGPT. Reckless most certainly implements modern techniques, but it is not Stockfish.Steve Maughan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 6:24 pm Since the source code of Reckless and Stockfish are both available, it should be possible for Ai to carry out a deep analysis of the two and highlight where the overlaps are.

I am waiting for other opinions. I will also discuss with Claude tomorrow.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

Yes! Brilliant! Congrats.Eelco de Groot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 30, 2026 9:54 pm I think, this is Mark's own investigations, not with an AI. Sorry!
Fluently in rust and c++. No AI. 'Course not. Nuts and impressing. Modern times.

Well, Silvian, instead of blindly trusting Chat-GTP, try a second engine, a 100% clone like Shashchess.
90% of coding is debugging, the other 10% is writing bugs.

Sorry! At this time, Shashchess is of no interest to me. If I remember correctly, I briefly tested (like last fall) one version. Out of curiosity. I remembered: in October 2025. It was exactly the version Shashchess_391_64_ja_bmi2 compiled by Maestro Jim!
