Dear Jim, many new versions of Plentychess have already been released, with a lot of patches, new network architecture, etc.
Maybe you still change your rule and, as an exception, compile the latest version. This will be a great gift to all fans of computer chess. The author of the Plenty engine has a somewhat strange attitude towards the numbering of new versions, putting many numbers after the dot and releasing a numbered version once every hundred years. Until now, no one else (including the author of the engine) can compile variants from the SSE and AVX-1 instructions.

Well, maybe because the author doesn't want anyone to be using his engine on those older architectures ? And I doubt it is just a compile thing, Jim probably has to change some code to compile it for that target architecture.
