Good decision, Jim.Jim Ablett wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:32 pmHi Ben,
I'm only going to compile Official releases from now on, not development versions. They update too frequently and I can't
keep up. Too much work for me.
regards,
Jim.

Evgenii,
yes, a malicious virus.
Follows us throughout our entire lives.
That's the live-mode, you know ... you know it.
If you follow a game and suddenly the sensation move ... during the game ...
That makes me saber run ... in awe of the programmers power.
Allways the same ...
The same if you sitting with your Camera on the Airport.
You know the flight schedule and suddenly ... an unexpected plane appears, special flight.
The result ... saber run, Camera full of saber.
OK, today we have flight radar, since this time I lost a bit my interest on that hobby.
Today I am sitting with my camera for still running eng-eng matches ... no, no ... without camera.
Best
Frank

I have created a Windows executable of version 1.0.1 here: https://github.com/gflohr/Chess-Plisco/releases.Jim Ablett wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 10:05 pm

Plisco 0.4 by Guido Flohr
A chess engine written in Perl.
Plisco 0.4 64 JA
Windows 64 bit build
https://drive.proton.me/urls/522T5YWZ6M#giT9sD0nc74G
The executable was built using 'Enigma Virtual Box' so it may trigger some antivirus software.
Just add an exception in your antivirus.
Jim.
It was done with a software called PAR::Packer (https://metacpan.org/pod/pp) that bundles a Perl interpreter, a script, and all of its dependencies into a single executable. I'm not a Windows user but a quick test suggests that it works.
By the way, this is not meant to be a competitive chess engine. It's a fun project trying to squeeze out as much performance out of a scripting language as possible. Running on a recent MacBook Pro, the engine has a rating of 1800-1900 on Lichess, see https://lichess.org/@/plisco-bot.
