This one starts with games on Feb. 27, the day the bot was updated with the new "Search Contempt" idea, which boosted it by about 200 elo. The ratings assumed for Leela are increased by 100 when Leela is Black and by 200 when Leela is White based on a survey of games since the upgrade. So for example at 3'2" Leela as White is 2650 and as Black is 2450 now. Good afternoon, Mr. Larry Kaufman. This is a wonderful improvement in the leaderboard, even though my second place on the leaderboard has been erased and I don't even appear in the top 100. Therefore, I've already played 25 1-minute buller games without any time increment per move. It's strange, though: I don't appear on the list despite my performance of 11 draws and 14 losses, for a draw rate of 44%.
I also haven't found Hissha or the former top 1 leaderboards.
No games from before Feb 27 were included, LeelaQueenOdds is so much stronger now. The leader SuperEasy (Joel Benjamin) remains the same, he has already re-earned it. I haven't yet played since Feb. 27, I do plan to do so. As for why you aren't on there, I'm not sure what your new initial rating would be, but it might be that your 25 games haven't brought you above 1900 yet. I expect you will again be at a high place once you've played a hundred games or so. Note that the penalty for playing White is double what it was, based on results, so there is much more incentive to let Leela play White now.
Good evening, Mr. Larry Kaufman. I'd like to know LeelaQueenOdds's current rating at 1 minute without boosting, using the white color scheme, and using the black color scheme. Thank you so much.
I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

Note that you can suggest a different formula for prizes but the question is if the Leela team agree to risk a big money that they can pay in case the GM win by a big margin like 6-0 or 5.5-0.5

I think that we need it to have a big motivation for the opponent to prepare for the match.

The new rating for LQO at 1 min no increment should be 3095 as White and 2895 as Black, since the Black ratings were raised by 100 and the White ratings by 200.

I think that we need it to have a big motivation for the opponent to prepare for the match.
I forgot to mention that Leela would be set to play as if the time control were blitz, so the games should average under 2 hours. So I think two games per day would be normal, 4 hours total playing time. I don't object to 1 game a day, but I imagine that it is much harder to get a GM to commit to a six day match than a 3 day match, so you can just offer the choice. Regarding prize money, although I think the likelihood of a 6 to 0 (or close) result is tiny, sponsors need to plan for the worst case, and without a corporate sponsor there is no way we can offer 5 digit potential prize money, especially to a fairly obscure GM. Your $1000 suggested payout for a 3 to 3 score (about what I would expect) is reasonable. I think the prize money should be paid out by "football scoring", perhaps $450 per win, $150 per draw, because in general Leela is likely to agree to an early repetition or to a blocked position that is a likely draw, and we don't want to encourage the GM to go for six draws. Maximum payout of $2700 is something we can guarantee, and an expected 2 wins each with 2 draws would net $1100. While this isn't enough to get the GM to spend hundreds of hours preparing every possible opening, it's enough to get him to play a lot of practice blitz or rapid games and to review them, like Joel Benjamin did. Many top GMs are doing this now on their own, for free. I think they believe it will help them in events like "Titled Tuesday".

Note that 2 wins each with 2 draws give the GM 2*450+2*150=1200 dollars in these condtions.

Oops, sorry, I was thinking $100 per draw when I wrote that, my mistake. Anyway, we can offer this.

Uri Blass wrote: Wed Mar 12, 2025 5:40 am Here is my idea for prizes

1)6 Games at 90+30 and 1 game every day
2)prize for the GM is 64,000$ divided by 2^k when k is the number of half points the GM lose so if the GM win every game the GM win 64000$ but if the result is 3-3 that is what you expect the prize is only 1000$

Note that I did not ask if GM's agree to play in these conditions but if you are feel sure 6-0 result or something close to it is impossible then you believe that you are not taking a big risk and I guess that 64,000$ is probably money that you can pay in the worst case(personally I am not sure that a prepared GM above 2550 cannot win 6-0 in these conditions considering the fact that benjamin is weaker than 2550 and he did not play 90+30 and did not play a single game per day).
Thank you note and dedication.
Having been in second place on the previous leaderboard, and having seen the new top 100 leaderboard yesterday where my name no longer appeared, I decided to focus and work hard.
The temporal fruits of my effort are sweet and give me joy and satisfaction. But they are also a call to my conscience to give thanks and dedicate this achievement: I am grateful to life and especially to my deceased father and mother. I also thank GM Larry Kaufman and Uriblass for encouraging me to fight the robot. My second place among GMs means a lot to me.

Congratulations, you are the only non-GM in the top four! At the moment you are tied for second, let's see who ends up in second place. The best strategy for a top place is to play many games at a slow enough time control that allows you to win most of the time, as SuperEasy does, but this takes a lot of time so I don't know if many other GMs will do this.

I just want to to say that I really enjoy LeelaQueenOdds. Im a terrible patzer, like 1200 at blitz and I lost every game (50 games of 3+10). But it's fun to play! It feels like I can win a game, but every time I get destroyed in beautiful fashion. The crazy and beautiful coordination of those minor pieces is amazing.

I would love to see the stronger GMs play LQO. I hope there will be some youtube content and people analyzing the play.

Also I hope there will be other LeelaOdds, like:
- no rooks
- queen and pawn(s)
- queen and knight (to humiliate people like me)

Thanks for making LQO happen! Very fun and interesting.

There already are, at least for the first and third of the above! Just look for "LeelaPieceOdds" (Which is really Leela multi-piece odds).
