And now they also delete answers at lazysmp topic because of "reasons" which are still unknown to anyone.

Afraid not - but I'd be likely to support a candidate who offers to officiate this way. :)

If someone is so done with moderating as he claimed to be, he can just quit. I do not see this can get anywhere worse even without a moderator, not to mention that there will be no new troll accounts and as soon as those troll feeders including the above mentioned cannot duck from a walk of shame, discussions might just become civilized again.

I do not need to resort to any authoritarian power anywhere to make my hot takes, yet I rarely see insults heading my way, I don't even feel the urge to censor my enemies. Get better.

I would imagine that most of the job would be mundane removal of commercial spam and spam accounts, with the occasional babysitting of ego battles.

Do you think there are still genuine new accounts to this forum? If anything, they can definitely use a referral.

Hard truth is that the forum is dead, new people don't come and exchange their thoughts here, I saved this forum for its historical reasons and of course more importantly for its entertainment value among old folks trying to stay relevant. None of which requires any moderators.

If you go to the Members page and sort by joined date, there are 14 new accounts in October, and 26 in September. It's not exactly a groundswell, but still there are a few new members here and there, some of which are probably legitimate. Myself, I come here for Jim Ablett compiles, the occasional new engine announcements, to help people with requests for old engines, to check out tournament results, and to laugh at people arguing. I wouldn't want this forum to be 99% erectile dysfunction and prostate ads and 1% legitimate posts, so I appreciate that someone would clean up that sort of thing and keep the lights on in the building. YMMV.

An absolute inaction would've resulted the same, and therefore obviously not the real reason why there will be no future elections.

What kind of person questions the validity of potential elections or candidancy before it is even held? The same person also complains about how he dislikes doing the moderations, while hogging there for years as if there is no one else. I might not agree with any of them but this one in particular did all the things that nobody wants and actively refusing any other helping hand(as a matter of fact during the last server migration).

The fact that lazySMP "engine" topic isn't closed and he isn't banned is more or less a good proof that current mod team is completely incompetent to do their work.
Aka they send me big red warnings for saying that some person post will make any reasonably smart person to facepalm because it's some sort of bad offence that is not tolerated and at the same day they call someone a clown but not closing his topic because they want to show some moral high-ground to "discord folks" or idk, maybe there is some other reason.
Definitely not following the rules they made themselves.
I can happily nominate myself to be a mod, at least I will cleanse all bullshit posting like sf troll one that has literal 0 reasons to be alive.
Hmm, this seems to be a common misunderstanding in what TC moderation is about, it is not about playing chess engine police, to define what is real what is fiction, to review statements made, to rate or score content, it is about offering people a neutral platform so they can do so.

....that being said, at some point the Boomer Generation has to hand over the keys of TC to Gen Z, or alike.

It's perhaps a good moment to thank you for your financial main contribution in public.
