I always hated the election time but that is just me  I know it is important to some of you. How big percentage though are real people here? Most guests are bots, most inactive accounts. Board technology was never designed for bots. Winboard and Twitter could happen anytime.

Realistic elections do not seem possible without Srdja's idea but it would be very ambitious, Science Fiction you might call it your favorite subject in your signature Thorsten.

- verification link per email
- verification code via SMS/voice mail
- authentication via eID

Right now I can't even post a reply without getting thrown out every time. Defenses against bot attacks probably, feels like living in France but I'm not in France. Probably worse there...

Seems to be high load/traffic on lil VPS TC server, I assume someone is scraping (badly configured scraper) the site from multiple IP addresses, cos some post view counts went off the charts (3K, 10K views on one single post)....HGM could adapt firewall to more restrictive settings, I gave a documentation to the founders group regarding server settings, blocking single IP addresses does not work in the long run, cat and mouse.

Scraping, or DDoS attack perhaps?

Yes, bad configured scraper probably, a real DDoS would take TC immediately down.

The site is like 50 to 100 times faster again and everything is back to normal right now :o Thanks to whoever took some action!

I nominate... ChatGPT.

We use our prompt engineering skills as follows:

1. Prompt contains the charter

2. Prompt contains the alleged violation of the charter (plus a description of the context)

3. Prompt asks ChatGPT to choose (1) no violation (2) small violation (3) normal violation (4) gross violation

Then the burden of moderation is reduced to administering GPT's decision.

:D

Well what can I say.
The fact that lazySMP "engine" topic isn't closed and he isn't banned is more or less a good proof that current mod team is completely incompetent to do their work.
Aka they send me big red warnings for saying that some person post will make any reasonably smart person to facepalm because it's some sort of bad offence that is not tolerated and at the same day they call someone a clown but not closing his topic because they want to show some moral high-ground to "discord folks" or idk, maybe there is some other reason.
Definitely not following the rules they made themselves.
I can happily nominate myself to be a mod, at least I will cleanse all bullshit posting like sf troll one that has literal 0 reasons to be alive.
