It seems that the era of HCE is also over in the world of chess engines written in Java. On another note: Serendipity-0.2 seems to be the first Java chess engine to break the barrier of 3300 CElo points (blitz 4'+2").
For comparison, the final grid from the JAVA ELITE Tournament:
The final result from my JAVA Top Engines League mini tournament (TC=4'+2"). Bagatur 5 has over 3200 CElo and Serendipity-02
(dare I say it) around 3400 CElo points.
I have just started a new tournament: PYTHON League (TC=4'+2'). Eight engines written (100%) in Python. The only tournament
of this kind that I know of.............
I added to my PYTHON League tournament the only engine written in Python (100%....A0lite is only 97.8%) with evaluation based on NN as well as an engine (written in Scala) well tested by CCRL-Tom Thumb 0.4 (as a marker). Thanks again Maestro Jim!
The pearl of the crown entered my PYTHON League tournament (10 engines written in Python and a CElo marker-Tom Thumb 0.4-written in Scala). Thanks to Maestro Jim, again!
Just a sample game between two Python engines with NN based evaluation:
