Just a general info FWIW.

I won't do updates anymore on this thread (and future similar threads), because I feel
talkchess is obsolete now and was destroyed by some 'users' long ago.
Also it's just useless double work for me, because my XB/UCI chronology
of course is and was still updated, while I wasn't posting here anymore.

Little teaser:
Counter 5.0 out with its own nnue eval now...

It is still possible I will post once in a while, if something really interesting would pop up here,
or in case of crude false facts about computerchess related stuff ;)

Bye,
Guenther

I am very impressed with the development of this engine. After playing several hundred games on Mac, RubiChess is showing what it is capable of today :)

Feel free to check it out at this link: https://www.chessengeria.com/post/rubic ... 0-released

Sad!
I occasionally peaked at it for enjoyment.

Indeed. Hopefully Guenther will reconsider his decision.

Lynx 0.13.0 is out!
I forgot to post about the previous version, since I didn't realize there was a different thread created for H2, so 0.12.0 hasn't been rated either.

BTW I've been relying on this thread (or equivalent for H1) to announce/get visibility about new releases of my engine, but I wanted to ask what's the preferred way for CCRL testing group team members to get that information?
If Guenther decides to stop contributing to it, which is from my point of view a shame but a decision we have to respect, some engine updates may just get forgotten.

Don't worry, Edu. Your new releases are being constantly watched. Of course, if you think we have forgotten about you, you can drop us a line.

I myself did notice there was a 0.12.0 version, I simply did not have the resources to test it. 0.13.0 is already in my testing queue.

Thanks for your words and all your effort Gabor!
I just wanted to make sure the process is optimized for you folks, since IMHO the work you do is absolutely invaluable.
If there's ever something we (engine creators) can do to help with it, please let us know and in my case feel free to open an issue in GitHub, since I'm not the most active person here + email notifications are broken for me.

Viridithas 5.1.0 adds restrictions to the pruning heuristics in Viri's search, deactivating them when mate scores are detected. This improves the speed at which Viridithas solves tactical test positions. I would expect this to improve Viri's strength in some rare positions, but it does not have a significant effect in standard play.
