I went to http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com and i liked it a lot, it has many valuable information.

So i wanted to save it in order to have it in case the project stops and disappear. So i put the program "Offline Explorer" to download everything there and i guessed it will be around 10-50 MB.
But it kept and kept downloading and it reached a size of 350 MB and it reported it had to download another 3000 items so i paused it because i find very strange the fact that the size is so big, without any big pictures there.

Is this logical?
Does anyone know if there is an alternative method to download all the contains of http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com ?
And i mean not to manually save everything of course. :D

I don't know how to do it as a normal observer, but organizers get an option to "export to html" from the space management page. I'll email you the zip if you give me your address.

Basically, Offline Explorer is one of the best website downloaders. In some cases where there's difficulty in control of downloading infos, switching back to manual offline browsing and manually downloading the important pages is the best thing to do to avoid getting unnecessary files.

In some cases Teleport Pro by Tenmax.com. works. But I haven't tried it yet at http://chessprogramming.wikispaces.com. Though I already used Offline Explorer too to download the pages and experienced the same case as yours. Manually trimming the unwanted pages was just easy in the "Map" menu. When I update, I used offline browsing and "Download missing link....." button for the page I want to add, or just leave the downloade for a while setting the "level limit" appropriate for the location of the pages I want, then do the filtering afterwards. It's a messy job sometimes if the webpages were built as this site does.

I started the wiki, and I regularly backup all content. Administrators of the wiki have a special function to do this. I try and do it about once a month. Wiki stuff is very efficient. In zip from, all that content is less than 300k. If you want an html version, I would be glad to send you one. Just send me a private message with your email.
