Major upgrade to Leela Odds Bots
Tonite there was a major upgrade to the four standard Leela Odds Bots. A new concept called "Search Contempt" was implemented, which has the effect of allowing Leela to analyze more deeply without getting worse results due to seeing too many potential good moves for the odds-receiver. Testing against bots shows a substantial improvement at all four handicaps; it remains to be seen how much this helps against human opponents, though initial results are promising. It should be interesting to see how the same players perform against the new bots vs. how they fared vs. the old ones.

If it's searching more deeply, what is it doing less of?

By limiting how many opponent nodes are considered, it is able to extend the search of its own possibilities. Total nodes had to be limited before this to avoid worsening results with more search, now that isn't so.
