Ryzen 9000 series for chess

Is anyone using a Ryzen 9000 series CPU for chess engines and how is it going?

I've checked out the benchmarks and there is no specific advantage with the 9000 series. It's maybe 15% better than the 7000 series.

Nice serendipity, Mark Young showed up again, good to see he's okay because he was gone for quite some time. And he posted his first message about testing a new Ryzen 7000
Well, that is not a Ryzen 9000 but maybe he has some insights on that.
The forum over there is a bit empty, maybe you can give some feedback or ask him to post the same stuff here if that is what Ed prefers to do with his forum?

Any way is fine.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

No.
But you can buy the iPad Pro M5 or MacBook Air M5 within the next weeks.
Or the M4 ULTRA Mac Studio.
Or the MacBook M5 PRO and M5 MAX later this year.

No.

Indeed, cos the Zen 3 and Zen 4 Ryzen 5000 and 7000 series are still a good deal in regard of NPS/dollar.

The 9000 series Epyc chips are pretty snappy. See IPMAN CHESS site.
NPS: 434,173,828 AMD EPYC™ 9754 DDR5 6400
About twice the Deep Blue II burst rate.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Another possibility is Threadripper Shimada Peak coming out this summer with 96 cores. Won't be as fast as a dual EPYC obviously, but probably the world's fastest single CPU for chess.

In current TCEC match SF peaks often with 1.2 Gnps :!: . HCE Stockfish should reach 2-3 Gnps?
