Fritz 19 GUI one sided draw

Post by cc2150dx »

This is one example of an one sided draw. Fritz is only reading black as a draw. Why doesn't it look at both white and black evals. I think this is a bug ?

The draw is due to the 50-move draw rule. It is actually White that is not telling the truth.

I disagree with Ferdy this time: white is the one misevaluating the position. Black is safe in a8-b8 and LSB is worthless because all black pawns are on dark squares. Finally, the white king can not capture the c-pawn without stalemating the black king. I do not see a different outcome if we remove d and e pawns, with B×R drawing:

OTOH, I also think that the GUI claimed the draw too early in view of white evals and when the last capture was.

Regards from Spain.

Sorry indeed this is not a draw by a 50-move.

A sample game where Obsidian detects an impending draw.

So there is no issues with Obsidian scoring.
