FCP Tourney 2023/2024, 41.000 games, 40/20 ...

Post by Frank Quisinsky »

Hi there,

in the next few days I will start a new tournament without using my website for publication.

Results and the games can be found in this thread.
From round to round or maybe each two rounds ... think so!

- without TOP-15 engines (more places for newer engines)
- without longer time not updated TOP-65 engines (examples Xiphos, Nemorino or Combusken).

But if engines will make troubles I will replace with older engines, like Xiphos ...

All are engines in TOP-65 of rating systems.
In the follwoing list can be found version number and date of engine.
Oldest is DanaSah 9.0.

Note:

Draw = 0.5 points
Win = 2.0 points
Short win (Mate below 50) = 3.0 points

Why not, will see that!

Hi there,

tournament is still running since September 25th, 2023 (00:00)

7 changes I do in the last two hours:

1. Prozessor overclocking changed from 4.4Ghz to 4.0Ghz.
176W and 78 temperature with 4.4Ghz and 112W and 61 temperature with 4.0Ghz if 16 matches are still running to the same time.

2. Carp 3.0.0 replaced DanaSah (oldest engine in the field)
Last-minute-update after the release from Carp 3.0.0 this evening
But Carp 3.0.0 is running without syzygy support (not working for me with Shredder 12 GUI).

3. Newer Willow version 3.1 available since this evening
4. Newer Avalanche version 2.0.0 available since this evening
5. Newer Alexandria version 5.0.0 available since this evening
6. Newer Viridithas version 11.0.0 available since this evening
7. Newer Stormphrax version 2.0.0 available since this evening

Hi there,

four more changes I do ...

1. Engine name from Weiss was wrong.
2. The first Weiss game ended with draw after 14 moves. A good known draw opening I forgot to remove from my book database. Game replayed.
3. Carp 3.0.1 replaced Carp 3.0.0 (first 7 games from version 3.0.0 not replayed, both versions without syzygy bases).
4. SlowChess Blitz 2.9 replaced RukChess 3.0.15 (with 1 of 6 on the last place after the first rounds). I will see the great style of World's number 15 in tournament and added Slow. At the moment Slow is playing the first games. Elo average of tournament goes a bit higher.

Hm, it seems we got a new Italian Stallian with Carp.

Here again the tournament links:

*.html tournament-table (live mode, each 30 minutes):
https://www.amateurschach.de/fling/fcp- ... -2024.html

*.sto game / match plan (live mode, each 30 minutes):
https://www.amateurschach.de/fling/fcp-tourney-2024.sto

*.zip file (current version = 0.1.0):
https://www.amateurschach.de/download/_ ... y-2024.zip
Can be found the opening book, configration from engines, GUI and tournament, of course later the games and so on ...

Hi there,

three changes more ...

1. Elo-Average changed in Shredder GUI tournament table from 3200 to 3250. I am wrong here.
2. Texel 1.10 replaced Texel 1.09 (games replayed).
3. Date of end of tourney changed in readme. The move average is much higher without resign mode as I am thinking before. I believe no more as 250 games per day on 16 cores.

Thanks for including Texel 1.10 even though I missed the "deadline" with a few hours :-)

Hi Peter,

oh, thanks for your new version ... you are welcome every time. So many people I know like your work since the first version. The playing style is nice. The features around Texel are fantastic.

Deadline:
For me a fun tourney, so I can looking a bit after work. At the moment I have holiday and this is a good time to start such a tourney.
No, deadline runs so long round 1 is still running. After round 1 I will not changed any more, the tourney should running.

Good luck with Texel and have fun with my work.

Best
Frank

Hi there,

Ronald sent rofChade 3.1 (will be official available soon).

So I have to changed the tournament!

1. Elo-Average set from 3250 to 3275 in Shredder 12 GUI tournament table.
2. rofChade 3.1 replaced rofChade 3.0
3. Revenge 3.1 replaced Zahak 10.0 (oldest engine in the field, tested with my last tourney too).

With Revenge 3.1 (also one of my favorits) a bit more tactical power and the new and strong Carp 3.0.1 can fight for the Italian championship.

:-)

Thanks Ronald, with over 100 Elo more to rofChade 3.0 you are the clear tournament favorite.
A good annimation for all the others in the field.

Changes I will do in the next hour!

Best
Frank
