I see some have already noticed the new site for the Chess Programming Wiki:
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Main_Page
It is still a work in progress, but I suppose it will never be done as long as chess programming keeps advancing.
Gerd has done all the work moving things (Not so trivial due to different wiki formats). Since the administrators of the new site are all traveling for a few weeks, we might be a little slow in responding to requests to join and edit. But we will get to it. Also, not everything has been moved, but if you have contributions to make it is better to edit the new site than the old. If there are any specific pages you need moved more quickly, let me know and we will see what we can do. Most of the chess programming content has been moved. There are still some chess engine pages needed. We have backups so do not worry.
Since the old wikispaces site has no way to transfer users to the new site, you will have to ask to join again. Sorry about that. But now that the site is in a modern, compatible format, any future moves should preserve membership.
I want to thank Gerd for an amazing job. It is hundreds of megabytes of great info.

Re: Chess Programming Wiki
Hi,
Thanks a lot for your excellent work!!!
Look like I’m not clever enough to find out the way / link to create a new account to join and then wait for your activation as your post. All I have found it’s the login page only. I have tried to create a new account on fly but that page refused any username/password I have entered.
Thus my question is: how?
Thanks

You might try to navigate to the "Help" page, then there is a "Create account" link in the upper right corner.phhnguyen wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 12:04 pm Hi,

Re: Chess Programming Wiki
Thanks, I saw it!
However there're some problems:
- I could not see the top toolbar of the page on my iPhone (it's fine on PC)
- The account created in MediaWiki cannot be used to login to CPW

Hello:
Special pages - Chessprogramming wiki
Right now, there is only a Log in option but not Create account. If I try the URL https://www.chessprogramming.org/Special:CreateAccount I get the following error:

I think that the new CPW is not ready yet for creating accounts. Please take a look at Login / create account section:

The Welcome section of the main page currently says that it is better to wait until July 24th to start the join process.CPW wrote:Permission error
You do not have permission to do that, for the following reason:
You are not allowed to execute the action you have requested.
In fact, the user list is very short - four at this moment, and I would say that all or almost all are CPW founders:CPW wrote:If you wish to contribute, please join. Though this requires activation, it is usually very quick (note since all three admins are traveling now or soon, please pardon us if there is a slight delay in us approving editors. This should be better by 24 July 2018). If you are just registering, we request that you use your name as your username (for some reason without spaces), as that makes it easier to know who everyone is and what they've done here. Remember, the Wiki is based on user contributions from people just like you. We always love to enlarge our membership.

Re: Chess Programming Wiki
Please excuse us for not adding more users for a few more days. The Blitz, WCSC and WCC are all taking place this week. I am here for Komodo and Gerd is here snapping pictures and gathering information for the wiki. We hope to have it ready for editors perhaps next week. The wiki formats are a bit different, and there is no way to preserve the old wiki login names, so you will have to sign up again once we have that part ready.

Re: Chess Programming Wiki
I wonder how is all that related to chess programming:
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Category:Marc_Ribot
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Category:Band
They all have some unrelated videos and references in Misc section of pages, e.g. here
https://www.chessprogramming.org/Neural ... rnal_Links
in "Music" section.

On many CPW pages (for whatever reason), there is a graphic that is totally unrelated to chess, but has something in common with the topic page.crem wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:40 am I wonder how is all that related to chess programming:

Marc Ribot played for a band called "The Lounge Lizards".
"The Lounge Lizards" produced a song called "Voice of Chunk".
A YouTube video of "Voice of Chunk" is linked on the page for the chess engine "Chunker".
Therefore, Marc Ribot also has a page that links him to the Chunker page, and others.
It seems sort of silly, but since I didn't put all the work into building out CPW, I'm not going to complain.
