I am not a good chess Player at all but I curious why wouldn't one run to the b3 pawn to protect it ?

I am not a good chess Player at all but I curious why wouldn't one run to the b3 pawn to protect it ?
That's probably why he gave his move a double question mark.
Deasil is the right way to go.

Idea was to win pawn back on e4 or f5 by walking with the king to f4 and play g2-g4.
