Free multi-processor (32-bit) engines

Post by thoughtful »

Hi

I have purchased Rybka 3 and, in the past, Shredder 11 and Hiarcs 12 (all multi-processor versions).

I want some freeware multiprocessor engines in the 2800+ elo range so I can run some tourneys on my favourite quirky openings where nt too mnay GM games exist.

What are the best freeware (32-bit) multi-processor engines please? Not just the highest elo, some that play interesting styles too

I have been away from computer chess for a while so am out of touch

Thanks

and should say, scanning some of the other posts, I am only interested in engines where there is absolutely no doubt that they are not clones. If there is a suspicion of an engine being a clone I'm not interested

Thanks

I thought this was not an MP and that Allard released only single processor version?

Yes - the MP version is still private.

Hi,

There are not many of them.

The best is of course the new Stockfish 1.6 (not on the list yet). Then:

Spark 0.3
Thinker 5.4C (or D) inert
Bright 0.4a
Crafty 23.1
Scorpio 2.2
Delfi 5.4
Frenzee may07
Pharaon 3.5.1

For details see: http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404/
Delfi 5.4: only 2 proc.

Best,
