A question about Chessmaster forum

Post by Sylwy »

Hi all !

Does anybody know what kind of forum is Chessmaster11 forum:

http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/4221052685

I have four posts on this forum:
-one -an apology of Chessmaster series-still exists
-the second- someting about Rybka team-still exists
-the third (from yesterdey ) - a critic of Ubisoft lack of interest in releasing the 1.0.3 patch-was deleted
-the post number four- someting about the Chessmaster history ( the role of WChess engine of Dave Kittinger in Chessmaster development )-was deleted today.
Without any explanation .And a mod- named Hollister-kind of colonial sergeant.

Thank you in advance !

Terms of use. Read that first to see what the forum rules are.
Some forums will delete post that they don't like or think the
post may now conform to forum terms of use.

Best to you,

Gerold.

P.S. CCC and CTF allow a lot of posts that most chess forums
don't allow.

Hi !
Speaking about ChessMaster history (CM 2000/2100/3000) is a forbidden subject on this forum ? I don't think so !
Asking Ubisoft about the 3-rd patch ( after two years from the release of Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition - a product full of bugs ) is a forbidden subject ? I don't think so ! Add please I'm a legal owner of CM 8000/9000/X/XI series !
An explanation for deleting my posts ? Never !
I see here a lot of arrogance and a lot of commercial interests ( my post praising CM series wasn't deleted ).

"P.S. CCC and CTF allow a lot of posts that most chess forums

Yes ! Right ! After a lot of scandals and after a lot of valuable members abandoned this forum. Why consider you CCC & CTF so permissibles ? It's a normal status ! I was shocked -years ago- to see the attitude of some members here ! Any wonder-for me- to see Rybka & Naum the first two chess engines in our days !

Regards,
Silvian

I am not implying that any of the following statements apply ot you but here are some reasons for some strict rules.
1. Most forums are privately owned and financed, thus all visitors are guests only.
2. In order to keep their forum from being hijacked or abused the owners reserve the right to monitor and delete any items that they think are not appropiate, and this might include any offensive or negative remarks about almost anything.
3. A person only need to look at rgcc to see how a forum could get out of control so makeing and maintaining rules to keep a forum running in a most productive way is in my opinion is really the best way to run one.

If you are going to have a chess forum and want to talk about improvements to the program or program then it is best to keep out some people who only want to spit out some BS and disrupt the forum.
