10m+3s, Athlon@1500 MHz

ECOplus3.ctg book for both
3/4- and R-R 5-piece tbs.
ponder off, F8-GUI, Win 98

Code: Select all

10m+3s Athlon@1500, 2007

1 Fritz for Fun 4 +11/-11/=8 50.00 15.0/30 225.00
2 Colossus 2007d +11/-11/=8 50.00 15.0/30 225.00
Fritz for Fun 4 is Fritz 8.1.3.0. - I think this is a very good achievement of Colossus 2007d, and I hope that we can look forward for even stronger Colossus', in 2008. It is among my personal favorites and a quality engine.

Hi Mike,

unrelated to your post, but which of your ctg books do you think is the most balanced for engine v engine testing?
You know I'm a big fan of your Xmas2640.abk book for Arena. I guess that's still your latest Arena book?
And have you made any books for the Shredder GUI?

Yes, the Xmas2640 books are my latest and most balanced, both CTG and ABK formats. I am thinking about creating a new, slightly bigger version of it which should include some openings which are missing in the current one, but I have not started with it yet.

I have not created any books for Shredder GUIs... I don't have a (full) version of a recent 'classic' GUI, but Shredder 5 which is from 2000. Therefore it would probably not be optimal to generate a test book with it (I don't know if there were changes to the BKT format or to the book functions). Although, I have a test version of 2005 and it's small book works fine in the S5 GUI.

(Btw. Shredder 5 also works fine in Windows Vista.)

But basically, it would be possible to try and no big additional effort, because with my latest concept, 99% of the time/work is required for the database the books are based upon. I will try it with the Xmas2640 database... if it is successfull, I'll post about it.
