CEGT - rating lists December 2nd 2007

Post by Werner »

Hi all :-),

our new rating lists are online and can be found under the attached links.

40 / 120:
Our 40/120 list was updated this week with 242 games for DeepShredder 11 x64 2CPU and a rating of 2946 Elos - quite close to the 40/20 result and in front of Zap!Chess Zanzibar too. The strongest single engine in this list is Fruit2.33f with 2837 points (Fritz 11 is not tested).
In our forum you can see the progress of the 4CPU-matches with new results for DeepJunior10.1 4CPU: http://husvankempen.de/nunn/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=9
Hopefully we can make a separate list with 8-10 different engines at the end of the year.

40 / 20:
We have a lot of news for you this week: You will find some very new engines in our list:
- Bright 0.2c (2CPU and 1CPU-version);
- Glaurung2.0.1 (64bit 2CPU and 32bit 1CPU-version)
- Shredder 8
- Queen 4.0.1
We added 2636 games this week. See more in our list "Games of the week". And not to forget: In total our 40/20 list is based now on more than 200.000 games!

New engines:
Bright 0.2c in its first 2CPU-version reached 2768 CEGT-Elos and has a place in our list in front of TheKing3.50 64bit 2CPU e.g.. The single version of this new engine has a start-rating of 2739 which is +53 elos better than for the version 0.2a in our list.
Glaurung2.0.1 x64 2CPU reached 2827 elos, +60 points in comparison to the Beta version for 2CPUs. For the 32bit single version we cannot show such a clear advantage - only 4 points. But here we need more games for a proof predication.
With Shredder 8 we completed the Shredder history. And last but not least: The oldie Queen could improve its rating too!

Updated engines:
Fritz 11 did improve its rating once more. In comparison to Fritz 10 we have now +97 points!
The same did TheKing 3.5 1CPU and has now the same rating as Hiarcs 9 - and Dragon 4.6 which is now new in our Best Versions List.

40 / 4:
Our blitz list was updated too this weekend. 6864 games were added to the list. Fritz 11 has now 2910 CEGT-Elos after around 3000 games. New in the list is too Bright 0.2c from AJ Siemelink. The engine has 2715 elos after 517 games. The engine is private and we do not know whether Allard will make it public one time.

A big „Thank you“ to all testers as usual! :)

Hi Tony,
yes, it was a huge surprise. Now we all are waiting for DeepFritz 11!
With 50 elos more, the single version reaches Rybka 2.3.2a w32 1CPU and the SMP version will also be quite near to the 64bit duals of Rybka.
So let´s hope for the next surprise.

a remarkable improvement by fritz. it looks like it benefited from getting its arse kicked by rybka.

The improvement from fritz must be based mostly on the pride of the programmer, because I don't imagine chessbase is that concerned about how strong it is, and i doubt 99.% of paying users are that concerned about ratings either

Fritz 10 gained 99 points from 4 cpu. If that same trend continues with Deep Fritz 11, Fritz will get closer to Rybka than any other engine has gotten so far. I wonder how Fritz started scaling so well all of a sudden after the source code of Zappa was given to them.
