The problem only can be ...
The field of engines is split ...

Rank 1 (RubiChess) to rank 18 (Minic) ... I think I can speak from League 1.
The different in points from rank 18 to rank 19 (Fire) is very high ... I think we can speak from League 2.

Between rank 14 (SlowChess) and rank 15 (Carp) is also a bigger difference.
Saw it later ...

Maybe League 1 go with Stockfish, Lc0, Dragon, Berserk and Ethereal (not in my tourney) up to SlowChess and with Carp started League 2. I don't know, not important. Tournament is very young ... a four years old children (round 04 of 50).

Hi,

more or less ... I hope of a contempt parameter for many of the engines.
My personal wish for programmers!

Engines which present contempt parameter produced a "normaly" move-average if contempt = 0 (in most of cases).

I am very surpised if I am looking in CSTal endgames. Really perfect what this engine do if a clear draw is in the near. Wasp do that a long time. With the result ... much more games without resign-mode can be play.

Why without resign-mode?

- better stats are possible
- will see the mate combination during I am watching the game and all is much more interesting for replaying games or building from a test-set.
- more engine-bugs can be see, mate-distance problems for one example only.
- often the game result is wrong with resign = on. Example: KBN-K and engine can't win, with resign=on game aborted and won.

For computerchess are games with resign=on unfinished ... in my humble opinion.
In all the years computer chess, never I set such a bad parameter (resign=on).

Interesting is Stormphrax
The move average is very high with 104 moves but 4 games over 180 moves only ???

Can be random or the programmer are working tricky?
Maybe he have the opinion ...

Around up-to move 100 avoid draw with a high contempt and after move 100 forced draw with contempt = 0 or such things?
No idea what he do but maybe all is pure random ... I have not enough games in database.

I think this was my last message to the tourney here. Tourney is running fine and ended March 15th, 2024.
I think that the thread must not be stand again and again in front of this page.

Hint:
Pro weak around 2 rounds ... 250 games per day, 820 games per round.

Hi there,

I changed the tournament type to a "dynamic style".
Engine updates are from time to time possible.

Computer chess lovers from my contacts wish stronger engines in the field.
Elo difference from Stockfish to the others is maybe more important as to create a tournament where the Elo difference from place 1-41 is optimate.

For that reason (dynamic style) lesser rounds will be play (think so).
End of the day with a dynamic tournament style much more as 41.000 games will be play ... again a never ending story.
Documentation updated!

After round 10 the first 4 updates follow ...
Berserk, Stockfish, Dragon and a new Seer goes in the tourney!

At the moment I have fun here ... tournemant with a dynamic-style can running on one of my PCs I don't need for other things.
