A .5 bonus is reasonable for picking the right order.

The idea is to just break a tie between 2 players, and even a 0.001 is enough for that. Higher bonus would only be relevant of we give bonuses to all the players that got engines in the right order, but then a bonus of 0.5 could be high enough to make new ties between a player that got some score without any engine in the right place, and another that had a lower score but got all three in the right place. Getting the engines in the right place shouldn't be as important as getting just the engines right, so in my opinion, a bonus of 0.15 for first place in correct position, 0.07 for second place and 0.03 for third place (for a possible total of 0.25 for getting all 3 right) would be fine (If the idea is to give a bonus in all cases.)

If you are trying to avoid the tie, Swami can just announce that whoever had the engine in order won. Kind of like the SB system in chess.

Maybe this is the best solution as we avoid the need for confusing bonuses ;)

Ok I can announce whoever had engines in the right order, or closer to that order.

If the actual result is A,B,C. If one guy had picked B,A,C in this order and if the other guy had picked A,C,B. Then I would award the latter the title for picking the A in correct order. No bonuses.

Deal?

Ok, then it is forbidden to repeat the same order, if someone repeats should be invited to change the order.

No, because then time zones would definitely be an advantage.

Yes, the time zones problem is a good point.

Ok, just encourage the players to pick a different order if they're following someone else, but don't force them, and allow shared first place if they pick the exact same order so time zones isn't a factor.
