GNU Chess 5.60

I see that in the CCRL rating lists, GNU chess 5.60 is the only one present. Meanwhile, in 2026, the latest version is 6.3.0. In the official download page, (https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/chess/), 5.60 is not present.

The main point is the inclusion of a .eng file

My question is, what is the relation in between the latest 5.x release from the official download list (5.08) and 5.60. Is 5.60 still referential to GNU chess? Secondly, what is the difference in strength in between the different versions: 5.08, 5.60 and 6.3.0?

Wow - when did Grokipedia get to be this good? When it was launched, it was nowhere near this standard. It still doesn't have images, but the quality of the articles is incomparably better.
