Interesting to see that a top engine like IvanHoe needs more than four times as much time as my poor little ChessMind while searching more than twice as much nodes per second...

Interesting, Plisk refused to see Ba3, it kept insisting that Ne2 was better followed by Ba3 as the next White's move.

However I went and added penalties for enemy and own pieces (different values) blocking the path of a passed pawn. And behold! Plisk started seeing Ba3 as the best move:

This is because it doesn't really see the point. It gives a perpetual check as the PV because it apparently doesn't see anything better for white. I would then test the engine on the position after 1.Ba3! Qxa3 where it has to find 2.Nh5+! as the best move.

My engine is having a hard time finding 1.Ba3! here which shouldn't be that difficult actually. After the fail-high at depth 13 I let it run 8 more minutes but it wasn't able to get a PV at depth 14. I'd like to see how other (amateur) engines cope with this position...
