I think they forgot to set the special Anti Rybka ™ settings in Toga. It isn't perfect yet but I'm working on it. Works with sonar and depthcharges. For instance look at the depths I got with one of my last versions today:

The only problem is that it was tactically blind, after reaching a certain depth it finds almost nothin new. No Bf6. But great depths! :) I'm still trying to figure out what it was doing but I did not save the changes to the source for this version I believe..

Sune's new Frenzee is doing great there in Dave's tournament! Is your tourney the first from the CCRL it is participating in Ray? I can't find it on any of the CCRL lists yet.

That's surprising. I picked Toga to win this tourney.

Ovyron wrote:Now even tourneys are cloned!

Yesterday, Ray started a new tourney and asked what version of Toga should participate. I wanted Toga II 3.1.2SE Chekov to participate but went 5 hours too late! So I decided to make my first tourney a clone of his tourney but with this Toga, and with the difference that my tourney will have a greatly lower quality:

Athlon 2.1Ghz 32bit
Several GUIs
1'+ 7" with ponder off
64MB hash each engine
6-men online tablebases (Games adjudicated upon reaching 6 piece endings)
No books
Round robin each color, 112 games

To make up for that, I created new engine logos for all the participating engines:

Rybka 1.0
Fruit 2.3.1
Toga II 3.1.2 Chekov
Spike 1.2 Turin
Glaurung 2.0.1
Naum 2.0
Bright 0.2c
Frenzee Dec07

You can also try to guess what engines are going to end in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (But if you are going to pick the same engines as another person, just do it on a different order.) Feedback appreciated 8-)

I grabbed a few of these logos for my personal use. Hope you dont mind 8-) No use trying to hide it any longer- i might as well come out of the closet here: I have a weakness for logos.

I've only played 12 games. With the few free CPU time I have, my tourney probably is going to end after all the other clone tourneys  - Thanks everyone for your interest. :)

I have not played any Frenzee games so it's not late to use Frenzee Feb08. Here's the new logo:

I blame the compile! Here's some sneak preview of Toga games on my computer:

I agree. I'm considering restarting the tourney with a different build.

What's the best way to compare speed of different compiles? I'm not too familiar with testing uci engine speed without bench tests.

And what are the different builds of TogaII_3.1.2SE available?

I think that running the different compiles on the starting positions and comparing their nodes per second after a certain ply is a good way to measure their speed (all things being equal.)

On the Toga you downloaded, you should have:

TogaIIv3.1.2SE_P4_SSE2.exe

And there's a folder named "Additional Compiles by Denis Mendoza" (You need to unz7 it, tell me if you have problems doing it) with:

Toga_II_3.1.2SEp3.exe
and
Toga_II_3.1.2SEp4.exe

(These later compiles are only needed if the first one doesn't run on your computer)

And finally:

Toga Chekov by Denis P. Mendoza

However, I'd just suggest to trust the GUI on changing the settings, since that guarantees that you'll have the highest speed (I think.)

Have fun.
