I'm going to do another one soon with 8 strong free engines

Arena GUI
90'+ 30" with ponder on
512MB hash each engine
5-men tablebases
book HS-12moves.abk
round robin, 4 rounds, 112 games
Engines will be
Rybka 1.0 64-bit
Fruit 2.3.1
Toga (which version....)
Spike 1.2 Turin
Glaurung 2.0.1 64-bit
Naum 2.0 64-bit

Any alternative suggestions welcome. I'm still trying to decide on the Toga version, there are so many now....

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

Re: Which Toga for this tournament ?
Hmm... and which compile for my AMD64 Opteron ?
The downloads that I have are
TogaIIv3.1.2SE_P4_SSE2.exe
and the Denis Mendoza ones
Toga II 3.1.2SEp3.exe
Toga II 3.1.2SEp4.exe
I like it really when authors keep it simple, one compile fits all...
EDIT:
Oh, and these...
Toga64_SSE2.exe
Toga64_SSE3.exe

Re: Which Toga for this tournament ?
Well I tried them and they all work
This one is fastest on my machine
Toga II 3.1.2SEp4.exe
So I'll use that. But the differences are negligible, barely 5% between fastest and slowest

Could you please use these settings? (Chekov by Eelco de Groot):Spock wrote:Toga II 3.1.2SEp4.exe
[OPTIONS]
Verification Reduction=6
Futility Margin=125
Extended Futility Margin=325
Delta Margin=55
Quiescence Check Plies=2
Material=102
Piece Activity=103
King Safety=125
Pawn Structure=105
Passed Pawns=105
Toga Lazy Eval Margin=245
Toga Extended History Pruning=true
They performed better on my computer and in matches made by NATIONAL12 (from the Rybka forum) relative to the original but they haven't been tested enough, so it would be very interesting to see them play if possible
