Ancient book. Probably remains a problem as Jeroen Noomen does not make it anymore. CT2007 is the first Tiger engine to work extensively with reductions. It is like an unpolished diamond, and made a bit too fast i think.
Looking forward to a more balanced CT 2008. MP support no objection.
George is using a generic book, but you're correct in that the History107.ctg book is based on top level games from 1840-1946.
Seems to be an okay book for engine v engine testing though.

You are right Graham. I overlooked the generic book. It being ancient is a funny coincidence. I have been doing a lot of position testing with CT2007 at SelSafety=8 instead of default=6 so that Tiger contemplates a bit more before rejecting or reducing moves. An unpolished diamond it remains, though from time to time brilliant. SelSafety=8 looks good to me, but is hardly a substantial improvement.
Chess Tiger 2007 because we're filling gaps in the 32-bit 1CPU crosstable.
Chess Tiger 2007.1 and Chess Tiger 2007 are so close in strength that we want to be thorough with our testing of both.
