Results of the current Romichess

Post by Tony Thomas »

I finished testing the new Romi version today. Not bad, or not particularly good, the improvements may not be that significant. The current version is currently the best version. I include the results of the previous best version as well. Romi was able to score 4.5 points higher against the same opponents, the number of wins did not change. It is still far away fromt the target score of 60% (my target, not michaels) before new release. Also a request to Mike, please add some king safety and endgame knowledge. King attack engines such as Horizon and Phalanx killed Romi in some of the matches in less than 30 moves even though they lost the 30 game match. Also, Romi didnt know how to win with 2 pawns and bishop againt a lone king, it was funny watching her trying to mate the other engine just with the bishop, finally the other engine resigned due to -12 score.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the test! I thought that NG9 was going to bomb. I am very glad for that +8 elo. :D

RomiChess still has a lot of holes. I hope to get them all plugged, someday.

The good news is that I will be sending RomiChessP3k, prerelease version to you in a little while. It is even stronger!

When I made my post, I thought that most of the day would be available to me for programming and testing. My day then got unexpectedly busy. I just now got to sit back down at my computer. Oh well.

Anyway NG9 still has 'goat powers'! Prerelease P3k that got 70.5/100 vs Hamsters 0.2 at 1+1 has them temporarily removed, because, they conflicted with what I was doing. I want to see if 'goat powers' can be added back in for another small bump, before I send it to you!

If you dont give me a version that is able to score 60% or more within another year, I will have to tell goat to break up with you. If you dont want to be lonely, you better do some kick ass programming. 8-) And stop messing with Hamsters, we are goat lovers for life.
