Hi George

Interesting Tourney with a lot of equal strength participants!

It would be great if Arena has knock out option.

Is chessbase reliable?I have Fritz 9,and I was wondering if many of the 2000-2200 rated engines that use wb2uci adapter to work in chessbase produce some bugs and lose on time.Do all of the engines work just fine?

Regards.

I hope George doesn't mind me answering. There is only a small handful of weaker engines that I've had trouble with.

Swami, i hve had a couple people tell me that with engines like Scorpio and such, they play stronger in chessbase with the adapters than they do in Arena. I cant verify that, tho, as i have never used Arena. But i can tell you this- contrary to what some people will tell you- Chessbase has solid guis that never give me a minutes trouble with natives, UCIs and winboards converted to uci with the adapters. Im perfectly happy and dont plan to change. Tho im sure Arena is fine too.

Regards,

George

You dont really need a knock out option to run a knock out tournament.

So some say, but I genuinely doubt it.
