I predict that this will lead to a notable change in user behaviour. The abrok site was very user-friendly. So I'd usually just download the latest development version if I wanted to do some personal experiment with Stockfish.

The official site looks way more nerdy. I'll just wait for the next official release. :D

Abrok was nice, if you want to test one patch. Not possible with official compiles. BTW official compiles are now faster than abrok with my CPU.

Since many months latest Stockfish development version (Pre-release) is also available on their official Github page.
See https://github.com/official-stockfish/S ... h/releases right at the top.

Which probably is the main reason for Roman Korba, to quit this service.
Looks like the right time for a big Thank you! to him.

Given that you said this would be easy, Jörg, I have been able to work things out. It is clearly feasible but not trivial.

Many thanks from me to Roman, too.

Sad to see the Abrok server shut down.
More interesting to me than the binary releases is the explanatory data for each change. I don't care about fixes that show promise at hyper-bullet speed and tail off rapidly at longer time controls. I also like to make my own builds and so I wait for fixes that look promising to me at longer time controls.
I guess I can look at the commits but I am not sure where to find the explanatory data that goes along with them, and the estimated Elo change at different time controls, which was infinitely more useful to me than the prepackaged binaries.
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.
