Previously, I have posted links for my Nimzo_3d Chess GUI program
which is an enhanced version of the Tarrasch chess GUI with additional features.
I have added the following features to the latest release
of the Nimzo_3d Chess GUI (version 4.0)
Media player for playing and making chess videos

Evaluation profile window
Automatic creation of Polyglot .bin opening books
Opening book training feature
Comprehensive compiled help file, Nimzo_3d.chm
Five additional 2d piece sets and
eleven additional 3d piece sets
Score counter for chess quiz games in PDF files
Coloured square highlights and arrows
Automatic game replay function
General search function for Tarrasch databases
Fast search function for PGN databases
Rated game feature for playing against weakened engines

The program downloads are now quite large, 550 - 570 Mb
because of the < UCI_LimitStrength > engines for the < Rated game >
feature and the 3d piece sets.
The program can be downloaded from the following links -

with 5.3 million games available for download (370 Mb) from -
https://www.mediafire.com/file/0ke2wgo3 ... 25.7z/file
For any brave soul that wants to try to add more features to the program
there is a download with Visual Studio project files, source code and
instructions on how to build the wxWidgets libraries used in the program.
It is set up with the same directory structure that I use when
writing the program. It is available at the following links -

To Ponti,
I checked all of the program files for the different versions
with Avast free anti-virus Version 25.11.10580g and they came up clean.
The 64-bit multi-lingual version that is hosted on Proton drive has also
been checked by Virus total and comes up clean.
This is also the version that is available for download on the games website
< Uptodown > and they check the program for viruses before hosting
a program.
Here is the link for this version -
https://drive.proton.me/urls/6R8JG89B1W#P0jjBH6QIkjf
So this would be the version to try, assuming that you have tried a
different one.
Also, the only difference between the versions is the Nimzo_3d.exe files.
The engine files, bitmap files, 3d piece set files, etc are all the same.
Given that I built the .exe files on Visual Studio and the multi-lingual version
comes up clean, this is probably a false positive.
Please would you let me know which version the Kaspersky software
found the virus in, so that I can investigate further.
I would also suggest that you submit the version that you tried
to < Virus total > in order to see if the Kaspersky positive is
just an outlier.
I would add that when I was first making an installer for distributing
the early versions of the program, I had a lot of trouble with false
virus positives. I was able to eradicate these simply by using a different
installer < Create Install > with exactly the same files.
So it is quite likely that what you have found is just a false positive.
Thank you for your feedback.
Yours sincerely, Roy Sawyer.

Re: Nimzo 3d Chess GUI for Windows - version 4.0
Hi
Thanks for sharing your GUI fork. Very useful. I seem to be having problems with move delay while using skill levels with my Komodo 12. Move delay works but only against the human player. So if I am playing white, black will play instantly (as Komodo does with skill levels) but then I cant make a move, during the delay, at the same time the engine time decreases, and the GUI is unresponsive. So komodo still plays instantly and the delay seems to affect the human although the engine loses time. I've also tried short and long games and black/white and various time delays, seems to be the same? Perhaps its something I am not doing? Thanks

Re: Nimzo 3d Chess GUI for Windows - version 4.0
Hi again
Solved it. Move delay seems to be working fine with 'use animation' not ticked. But not when ticked. I also reproduced the problem (and the cure) using the included sargon engine. To use the skill levels with a realistic delay with Komodo was the main reason I downloaded the GUI so it was a coincidence to see your reference to komodo with the move delay help files. Also will be interesting to experiment with the komodo mobility and king safety parameters in combination with skill levels.
I bought Fritz 19, mainly for the personalities but was surprised to find the personalities moving instantly, Apparently they don't with Fritz 20 but only up to a blitz time control ?? Not sure why they couldn't do something similar to what you have done.
Anyway thanks for your work, a good sparing GUI with the various rated game options and engines, the engines can off course be incorporated with other UCI GUIs, I also like the sound effects and the jubilation when winning a game, At my local chess club I'm lucky if I get a nice cup of tea.

Hi,
I'm still getting the same "Trojan" warning. I'll send to Kaspersky the file. Thanks again. Must be a false + ,sure.
