A convinving win with black against the queen odds bot at 30+30

Post by Uri Blass »

I find it hard to believe that this thing can get 1900 fide rating at 90+30 based on this game.
unlike my win with white at 10+10 this win was clearly more convincing.

Excellent game, Uri. The reality is that the robot LeelaQueenOdds can be easily and quickly saddled and tamed to ride wherever we humans most like to go, observe, and fix our gaze. Personally, it makes no difference to me whether I win or lose against the robot, because in each new game I learn something new again and again with the empirical system taught by "Humpry Davy" and "Thomas Alva Edison." With my own light received from the algorithmic Programmer and Maker, I can read and understand the stubborn, nervous, and erratic psychology of the Odds robots, which receive severe humiliations one after another and many times more. The bot programmers, in my humble opinion, consider that, "barring a better concept," they will not be able to openly overcome us. I believe that some of the bots must be "rabid." In my case, "a simple mule or donkey" is more than enough for me to defeat them. However, it's undeniable that bots have made enormous progress, and in the case of LeelaKnightOdds, of course, they've already overpowered us. As for all the other bots, I'll domesticate them and put them to eat out of the palm of my hand... Also, Uri, I want to tell you something; I'm not in the mood for a tie anymore, unless it's through a circus game where I make the robot dance to my music. I dedicate these two fun-filled games to you, Uri. Happy birthday, Uri.

I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

unlike my win with white at 10+10 this win was clearly more convincing.
I am becoming convinced that the difference in elo points between blitz and classical is greater for odds chess (particularly large odds like queen odds) than for standard chess. LQO would probably get a FIDE rating of about 2400 at 3'2" blitz based on its recent online performance. The difference between classical time limit chess and blitz chess is about 500 elo, based partly on simul performance of GMs, who seem to drop about 500 elo in performance when playing about 30 or so boards at once. But it seems to be more for odds chess, maybe 600 for rook odds, 700 for queen odds, something like that. We can only speculate as to the reasons. My hypothesis, based on what I have observed with the bots, is that a given elo difference in standard chess translates to less in odds chess, perhaps because the stronger player's extra knowledge of openings and endgames is much less helpful in odds chess (openings are affected by the odds, and close endgames are much less common at large odds than in standard chess). So a 2400 player might only be 300 elo better than a typical 1900 player at odds chess (for example), so he can't play as well in blitz as the weaker player can in standard time.

Good evening. I dedicate this bullet-time game to Dr. Larry Kaufman and the creators of the LeelaOdds robots. I apologize for all the times I've been rude and ungrateful to you on the Leela team. I also want to thank you for removing me from the standings. Thanks to that, today I've moved from "tie mode" to "win mode." Through this game, I want to prove that victories are often the result of applying "home labs." This has been the case since the Match of the Century between Fischer and Spasky and all the teams of analysts. I suppose that since ancient times and centuries, victories have often been and are the result of "pre-analysis and pre-studies." I hope you all enjoy my games and that perhaps they may be a starting point for further studies and applications. Thanks again.

I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

177...Bxg5 is a blunder of LeelaQueenOdds

this move may be logical at 1+0 time control when the opponent is in time trouble but not at 1+1 time control.

Since Black's position looks better than the initial one, Leela doesn't want a draw despite being a queen down, and a fifty move draw was imminent, so either take or draw. It is not related to time limit. Perhaps Leela is wrong to think that the position is better than the initial position, but that's a judgment the NN makes, not easy to correct. We could of course just make LQO less draw-averse in general.
