A good Game. Man versus Machine 2025

Post by Father »

Good morning, Mr. Larry Kaufman. I hope you are well and that everything continues well in this new day that begins. I would like to respectfully ask if you know the rules that govern the Elo scores and statistics for the Odds robots, so that I can consider whether or not to play against one of those robots. The effort and energy I expended in the last year of playing to reach the top positions in the leaderboards of the top 100 humans for each robot was very high, and I don't want to exhaust myself that much again. Perhaps I will continue practicing sporadically just for the simple pleasure of playing, now free and unchained from the chains of searching and wondering what position I occupy or not in the leaderboard. In fact, I have felt very light and free since my name was removed from the leaderboards; life has done me a favor. Just today, I played a peculiar game that I want to dedicate to you and thank you for allowing me to play against the robots. I've been doing some thinking over the last few days, and the conclusions have been very positive. First, I've finally achieved my dream of competing among professional and top chess players; second, I've achieved excellent positions on the robot leaderboards. I've now returned to where I started: a player just for fun and nothing more.

I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

Good evening.
I'd like to know how I can find out my current Elo against the robot LeelaQueenOdds.
These little winds and thunderstorms have undoubtedly turned out to be a new opportunity for me to grow a little, "Catecan!" I'm already considering winning or defeating the robot at the time control I'm used to using now: 1 minute 3.
When one door closes, another new path opens, and from crises, new opportunities are born. The Odds computer's ability to stalemate games that are completely on the verge of being lost is incredible. The robot's originality and resources are special.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

I do not know your elo but I see that your results at 1+3 are probably not good enough to get to the table and It is possible that it is not because your level is not high enough but that the bot improved and part of the people are in the table thanks to results in the past.

Your results in the games you play recently are +3 =2 -20 at blitz 1+3 and +1 =4 -24 at bullet 1+2

I see last place in the leaderboard some days ago(now out of the table) was
skrougl 2369 91-68-486 3+1 2025-08-08

He won more often than you but it seems that he played before the last update of the bot.

Thank you very much, Uri, for your response. I'm unfamiliar with the rules and parameters for calculating LeelaOdds bots' Elo ratings. I'm completely unaware of what rules apply, from what point they come into effect, if they only apply to me in the past, and to which people these rules apply and which ones they don't. For example, I don't know if a draw has any value or not, what my loss reflects in the Elo rating, and what the effect of my win is on the Elo rating. I also don't know how much the Elo rating is for each bot and time control. Uri, the new ranking and Elo rating they've assigned me on the LeelaQueenFortKnight leaderboard is a complete mystery to me. They've moved me from number one to number seventeen, and on LeelaKnightOdds they've moved me from sixth to thirty-first. On QueenOdds, someone moved me from my twenty-fourth place to some obscure Elo spot below one hundred, which I don't know, and on LeelaRookOdds, they moved me from my first place to some place in the black underworld that someone decided. So, Uri, I'd like you to help me, since my lack of trust is complete, and it wouldn't be strange to me if my victories didn't count either. Do you know where I can consult all these concerns? For me, the evidence of a deliberate, public, and shameless action against me is pure and simply total.
Thanks in advance Uri.

Good morning, Uri. I'd like to inform you, as well as Mr. Larry Kaufman, that my friend "Catecan" has made a decision: "Catecan" definitely wants to please you and collaborate with Mr. "Naphthalin" and accept the challenge of entering the leaderboard and fighting for first place in "LeelaQueenOdds" by racing my beloved "stick mule" among the "thoroughbred horses" and riding "to win; "" "Catecan" is stubborn and helpful; it doesn't bother my "mule" being a "tester; "Catecan's" love for robots surpasses the insults and humiliations he's received. But "Catecan and I" want your help, Mr. Uri Blass. We are both "math mules" and we require a manager who will take care of us. I'm "gaining confidence" and "I think I understand" the robot. We are not pessimists, and Catecan and I believe that "patience wins" and that happiness is not enough." ... we have begun to walk with the sun in front of us, then it will be above us, then at our backs and at the end of the day.... "Catecn and his rider will win." Catecan and I dedicate this game to you three. Happy day.

I believe Noah is planning to revise the leaderboard soon, but he seems to be rather busy and hasn't yet announced new rules. I expect that some draws will still be rated, perhaps only draws that occur in the endgame (I don't know how that will be defined yet). All wins will surely be rated, no one has even suggested otherwise. There are no rules specific to any one person. I have proposed raising the elo rating of the queen odds bot by 50 elo for games played on or after Aug.25, which would help you if you continue to play, but I don't know if my proposal will be adopted. I also proposed increasing the effect of time control, which will also aid you if you continue to play games where base time in minutes plus increment in seconds is less than 5, since it is pretty clear that current rules favor those who choose long time controls. So I expect that new rules will reward players who can win at least a decent percentage of their games at fast time controls, though I don't know this yet. But just closing the position and "passing" without any real action before the draw will probably not result in rating changes I expect.

Uri Blass wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 9:39 am I do not know your elo but I see that your results at 1+3 are probably not good enough to get to the table and It is possible that it is not because your level is not high enough but that the bot improved and part of the people are in the table thanks to results in the past.

Your results in the games you play recently are +3 =2 -20 at blitz 1+3 and +1 =4 -24 at bullet 1+2

I see last place in the leaderboard some days ago(now out of the table) was

Thank you very much, Mr. Larry Kaufman. I would be very grateful if you would allow me to monitor and follow up on my Elo rating and matches. I've begun to feel very comfortable with the 1-minute time control per match with a 3-second increment per move, and my 12,000 games have been nothing short of the foundation upon which I've begun to build my victory. I don't rule out making a comeback and fighting for prime positions on Leela's Odds bot table, for now known as QueenOdds. I would like to know, and in this regard, I ask for your collaboration and help at this time, "what my Elo rating is," since I've begun to win more often and end up drawing in the fight for victory. I would be very grateful for your cooperation. Have a nice afternoon.
