Post by domenikov »

Hello all,
I released a program to play Janggi (korean chess). It's name is "Janggi". These the main features:

- UCI chess engines support
- Ask hint from computer
- Repetition moves automatically detected
- Bikjang detected and managed
- Start from a specific position if needed
- Set computer's strenght by choosing between time per move or fixed depth
- Engine's output expressive, showing which color is in advantage, the nodes computed per second and the main line
- Customisable graphics and sounds

Janggi is released as freeware and can be distributed in every non-commercial form.
Available for Windows 64 bit and Amiga-like platforms.

For those interested, is published on this page:

Thanks for the software. However, I tried on my Win64 system and it complains that it cannot open the Active.png file,

Thank you for reporting this. I have updated program. Download the new version and try again. The problem should now be resolved.

Thanks for the fix. It indeed worked, but now I am unable to make any move on the displayed chessboard.

Check the status bar. If a message "No game is playing" is reported in it, it means that you haven't started a game. Then, select "New game" from the menu and retry.
