I used to play 1. Nf3 but giving too many boring draws when you don't play Catalan or d4 later on.
So what alternatives do we have when you don't want or like too study much opening theory.
I thought 1.b3 was an option. But engine giving equal lines very soon. So you loose the advantage.
Any ideas. Don't tell me I need to play London system.
Best opening for white with least theory?

Stockfish telling after 2... d5 black's position is already fine. Might as wel play 1.a3 or 1. b4. Maybe that is a work around just give away a tempo and play like you play with black. Only need to learn opening theory for black. Problem is with black people play more defensive. So a reverse Sicilian less effective than when you play sicilian with black.Look wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 4:38 pmWhat about Trompowsky-Attack :Henk wrote: ↑Mon Jul 10, 2023 1:57 pm I used to play 1. I Believe it is the 1.h3... The Clemenz Opening, since there is NOT much Opening theories and even a weak player like me can hold all Mighty Stockfish to more than 40 moves without being checkmated

1.b3 is OK. Don't trust SF too much, because in positions over the board even +2 is difficult to understand most of the time. Most players don't know how to face systems with b3, Lb2, and an attack on the King's side. I play
